Default Second fire !!! This one totaled it out !!!

I hate to say this but I must have got the bad egg of the bunch. This is the SECOND FIRE I have had with this Jeep and this one came in at a total lost at $18,716.00 worth of damage. I was just driving to work and it was running great with no warning signs or overheating before it went up in flames. It's been to the Dealership for all the recalls had regular maintenance and only 24,000 miles. Jeep didn't do anything about the first one, don't expect they will do anything about the second one. I truly hope nobody else has this type of luck. I doubt that I will ever buy another one.

That is really sad.

Any idea what the cause of the fire was?

No none at all. You can tell it started over on the passenger side but it was so hot everything just melted in.

Damn that sucks. I've had a car burn on me once, it's not a great feeling. My fan shorted out and instead of the fuse blowing, the wires started burning and that was all she wrote. Sorry for your loss. I'm glad you're okay.

Wow that sucks!

I'd guess a fuel leak dripped onto the exhaust or something. Seems nearly every manufacturer in the last few years has had a recall of some sort for something like that.

The dipstick for the automatics is on the passenger side. Maybe another issue with the fluid boiling over and starting a fire?

Wtf??? This is lawsuit material man you need to persue this. A fire like this could result in loss of life. Unless they can blame it on a mod you have done this is a very serious factory issue. Sorry this has happened and glad you are ok. I hope they resolve this with you....

After browsing forums, a fire extinguisher will be my next accessory.

Sorry for your loss. Time to bag up a 2012.
