Default Self adjusting E brake on an 07?

I was told that the 07s have a self adjusting e brake. I was told to pull the e brake while backing up. I tried and it doesn't seem to be working, anyone have any luck or was i given bad info?

Not really self adjust in the way old rear shoe brakes used to be.
What happens is, the technique you describe will equalize the two sides, making the brake more effective with fewer clicks on the lever.

Mine went from 5 clicks to hold the Jeep, to 3 clicks to hold the Jeep.

The lever gets a fresh hold on the cable drum each time it is lowered to the off position. So, the lever and drum are really self adjusting.

When the shoes get worn, they need to be adjusted at the wheel by turning the star wheels on each side.

In my experience the drum portion of the rear disks where the parking brake pads are fill up with sand very easily and keep the pads from doing much of anything. I've gone in a couple times, cleaned it, and manually adjusted it but it never lasts very long.
