Tell me I am not alone. When slowly applying the brakes from coasting down a hill I start to feel a gradual shimmy. If I hold the brakes for a steady 3 seconds or so, the Jeep suddenly becomes angry and it feels like the axle might peace out at any second. Once I had to pull over and stop completely on the side of the highway. Any thoughts/suggestions?

Warped rotors, broken rotor, busted pad? Just guessing.

Warped rotors inducing death wobble?

Not in a Jeep, but I've had rental cars with such warped rotors that you could barely see straight after getting on the brakes, steering wheel violently shaking and everything.

Get under there and start checking for things that are loose, broken, or badly worn, or pay someone to do it...

Probably a problem with the pad or rotor. I would start there

Same here. I replaced the rotors with drilled and slotted to help dissipate gas and use factory pads. I found this after doing it to several Jeeps I have owned to be a good combinations. I get the rotors from performance brakes. Don't use their free pads. They are junk.
