Yup, lots. Some really don't like it and have tried to get the dealer to fix it, others like myslef live with it and accept it as a quirk of this transmission.

On cold days (< 25 F), shifting from 1st to 2nd can really be a bear. But after running for a couple miles it's good to go. Any temperature over 25 is fine.

It's a JEEP thing...

Some dealers will say trans need a fix...

But in most cases, by the time you've driven the jeep there...no prob to report.

So it's overnight for your toy at the stealerships, for a work over...THAT MAY OR MAY NOT RESOLVE THE ISSUE...

When it is cold out going from 1st into 2nd can be quite a chore, but after it warms up smooth as butter

Hard from 1st to 2nd when cold weather or before vehicle warms up.
Was told little issues like this hardly warrant the time involved in not finding anything. But we'll take a look if you want.
Thanks, but no thanks. Guess it a JEEP thing...

Mine is cranky when the tranny is cold. It doesn't straighten out when the coolant gets hot (e.g., the engine temp gauge is in the normal operating range). It takes longer than that. In fact, if I drive four or five miles it will be cranky the entire way. Stop for a few minutes some place and the engine heat has had enough time to work it's way to the tranny. After that, it's as smooth as a Jeep tranny can be.

One hint for particularly cold mornings: Put the transfer case in neutral and the tranny in 1st gear when warming the vehicle up in the morning. That helps a lot.
