Default Shock Questions

Who makes the stock shocks on 2012 wrangler sport s ? I would like to upgrade, bilstein 5100 only work on lifted jeeps. Are bilstein 4600 shocks any good? Was also looking at KYB and Rancho shocks. Any imput would be helpfull.

Just buy someone's Rubicon take off shocks. You can probably get them from someone on this forum for a pretty good price.

Our RS7000MT, is a monotube style shock. It is a high pressure nitrogen designed shock. Quick and firm dampening response with a large (50mm) body design.
Our RS9000XL is an adjustable shock that you can adjust from a very soft ride to a firm ride.

If you see yourself doing a lift sooner than latter, find the Rubicon take offs for the time being.

Good luck!

If you are staying at stock height, the Bilstein 4600's would be your choice. They are for stock height, mono tube construction, high pressure gas, and improved valving = about $75.00 ea.

Rubi take off shocks are the same thing and you can find them around for anywhere from $0 - 100.00 for a set of 4.

Got some Rubi take off with less than 100 miles on them for $50. They made a huge difference for my SportS...... Bumps and washboard are handled way better and the on road handling is leaps and bounds better. Cant beat that kind of improvement for $50 and a couple of hours time fiddling with the Jeep and quaffing beer.
