Default Should exhaust pipe look like this?

Can anyone tell me if this section of the exhaust pipe is supposed to be dented? Not the best pic, so i circled the area. It's directly above the axle like I either hit it or it's designed that way, but I can't see how I could get the axle that high to dent it or for them to warrant making the indentation.

I think it is for clearance of the rear axle when it is stuffed...

That had to be a sight. Someone probably thought you placing a bomb or something. I can see it now, someone saw you, waited for the owner and told them they probably should not start it.

I know the dent is on mine but I wish they would learn to bend the tubes so this doesn't happen.

After a couple of hours, a broken tailpipe expander, a second trip to the auto parts store and a lot of , this is what mine looks like now.
As for performance, I really can't feel or hear any difference but I assume it made a difference . (I know ass u me )
But after all that hard work, I refuse to believe it did not make a difference.
