Should I trade or not

Should I trade or not
My wife currently has a2009 2 door Rubicon that we would like to trade in for a 2012 Sahara unlimited. I like the idea of more power but don't like what I have been reading about the cylinder head issues. Was this problem with the first 2012's or is it still a problem in the current models? This is what has been holding me back even though we really want a four door, automatic. Any input would be appreciated.

Enough folks have had it that it's a legitimate concern. That said, it's still a very small percentage of 2012 owners.
The 2012 power is wonderful. Wouldn't dare give mine up! I'd say go for it.

I love mine. No ticking. Its smooth with more power and gas mileage than any Jeep I've ever had. Even if I get the tick I'm not worried. Now that Chrysler knows what's going on they are making good on it. Like the other post said. Its a small percentage.

Just Do It !
In late May, I traded my 2008 JKU"X" in on a 2012 JKU Sahara. What a difference ! Everything is better. You won't believe it. The service manager at my dealer said that if the manufacture date was later that March of 2012, the chance of having the head problem was low. Mine has a manufacture date in April of 2012. So far, so good. I would do it again in a heartbeat.

The 5 year power train warranty will cover you. I would not be afraid of trading. As mentioned the 2013's are also an option and they have a few small upgrades over the 2012's.

I understand about the warranty covering it but I wonder if this problem could affect resale value down the road. I owned a 2005 f350 with the 6.0 power stroke diesel. As many know, this engine was the biggest pos ever put in a ford truck and now a days, it shows in the resale value. A good condition 2002 with the 7.3 power stoke is worth more than a 2007 with the 6.0. Just saying, if enough people find out about this head issue, the late model jk owners will be in the same boat.
