Default side steps

I am thinking of installing stock side steps on my 2007 JK Rubicon 4 door. Does anybody know if I need to remove the black rock rails that it came with? I like the look of the rock rails but, I need the steps for the kids. I also would like to thank everyone. You guys have been such great help. I will start posting pictures soon. THANKS.

My son is six, and I just put a handle about halfway down the roll bar so he can climb up. He likes the climbing part anyway. I will eventually get rockrails with slidersteps, but for now, it's a cheap fix. Plus mines a two door, so yours would be even easier to get in with the handle.

I have a four door and I'll trade my steps for your rails. I live in AZ.

Default factory side steps

Mine was on the lot with side steps when I purchased it and I didn't want them - yuk.

Now I love them and woudln't trade them for anything. Easy for Mom and seniors to get in and out too..

I like to think it helps reduce the risk of door-ding as well...

Ditto here. I didnt really like that the Sahara came with them but they are now one of my favorite features. Not only do my kids use them...but I personally saw a door swing open and hit the side step that would have most definately dented my door had it not been stopped by the side step.
