Side view mirror base replacement help!!
I hit a couple of mailboxes to avoid killing a dog the ran out in front of me (in the country with no pedestrians around). The body shop is trying to charge me to replace the entire mirror but only the base got scuffed. It's only a few months old and I know it will be scuffed again eventually. Should I go to the dealer and see if they can order just the bottom?

Why not use a 'lil elbow grease and take the scuff out yourself?
There are a number of products to cover/mask the issue or you
could clean it up with some baking soda toothpaste and a nylon
brush....
If it's actually a dent then I understand if you want to replace it.
You could try e-bay or craig's list or some other after market shop.
But might I suggest checking into a place that deals with wrecks.
You could end up with the part/ parts you need for far less $$$
than you are currently faced with paying.
Hope this helps.
Good Luck.
