Default Sirius Head Unit

I recently bought a 2010 JK. I bought it with the single disk head unit with Sirius withthe intention of swapping out the head unit with a Kenwood Nav unit. My question is; is the Sirius receiver inside the stock radio, or is it an add-on module that could be plugged into my new radio?

Built into the radio. The Sirius antenna plugs directly into it. Some people have had luck using the factory antenna. It doesn't fit all Sirius receivers though. The best you could do is call Sirius and transfer your account to your nes receiver. There is a fee for that.

Kenwood DDX-812 here. Coincidentally I ordered the SC-C1 yesterday and should be installing it later today.

Well that isn't what I wanted to hear I have XM in my patrol car, so I can't really see buying a Sirius receiver. I just figured since I had a year of free service I'd try to use it

Thanks for the info
