Something like that wouldn't work? Seems a lot more cost effective.

It does say not legal in California. I'd avoid, OP, since I know California has very strict emissions testing (my brother is a retired smog mechanic).

Desert Jeep Just had this done to his JKU and his bill was close to $2100. Actually there are 4 header bolts and one exhaust pipe clamp and it comes out. I know because mine was out for a clutch swap. If you have a buddy to help it makes it easier. All you need is some PB Blaster, 15mm wrench, 15mm socket and a floor jack (to support the transmission. Removing the cross member will ease in removing the exhaust pipe.

Buy new bolts and nuts. The old ones will be rusted--very much so--and may even require cutting off. Buy new ones before starting the job so you don't end up having to run and find them after you've started (here in OKC that meant a half day running around to dealerships all over the metro because each had just one and the PDC that supplies all of them had none (I have access to buy parts before they reach the dealers).

You'll also have to disconnect the four oxygen sensors. That may be a bit of a pain. Be careful not to damage the wiring or connectors.
