So what's the grti-like stuff on my hood, and how do I get rid of it?
Clay bar kit is everybody's answer to this problem. It works wonders. I have used this for the same problems everyone is describing on all my vehicles I have owned and it works great. Once you are done going over throughly with the clay bar, use a nice high grade wax and you'll be fine. Do this a couple times a year and your paint will love you for the life of your jeep
The parts exposed to elements like hood and roofs for other cars get pollutants in the clear coat. My Subaru needed all the spots that angled up even a little bit, smoothed out. We clay barred the whole fang darn thang and it looks showroom new after a good coat of wax or 2. Feels so smooth I was amazed.
yea u will notice this only happens on flat surfaces like the hood/roof/truck lid.. on cars..
the doors and such on our jeeps wont need the clay, but u can do any painted surface.. u will notice as your doing it the clay will get dirty..
a lil detailer trick is use glass cleaner as the lube, but u can just use water also.
make sure u rewax after the clay treatment.
