I had the same problem last summer. Bestop sent me some new knuckles.

The issue can easily be resolved with the new knuckles by making sure they're properly lined up, otherwise the tension causes the plastic to twist.

You may be able to salvage the ones you've got by re-allingning them centrally, I can see they're not straight from the pic.

that's what I was told before not aligned properly, made sure they were right the last time & boom here we go again, it looks out of alignment from it pulling, it's like there's to much pressure for these style clamps ?

Is this a two-door?

Shouldn't the lower-attached bow be on the interior side of the higher-attached bow?
Or am I looking at your photos incorrectly?

I think your bow mount brackets might be on the wrong sides. They are stamped right and left, easy to check by pulling up the zipper.

I found these knuckels from rugged ridge Rugged Ridge Part 11251.04 - Soft Top Disconnects - Fits 2007 to 2014 JK Wrangler Unlimited and Rubicon Unlimited - 4 Wheel Drive

now they are for a 4 door, wouldn't they work for a 2 door also, it's only an end to connect the bows or am I missing something ?

just an update on this, contacted Best Top sent them the pics, guy tells me they've never seen this before so he's sending me new knuckels, the mounting brackets are installed correctly after looking at it closer it seems they need one more hole in them which is where it ends up after it pops out of the 3rd hole which is the lowest setting so I'm going to try it, if it happens again might just try the MOPAR brackets & knuckels
