Soft Top Help...
I am lost. I worked on the soft top from 6 o clock to 9 oclock tonight. The manual says something about two retainers on each side. Did I do something wrong. I can get the back on but not the front or the front on and not the back.
Any help would be appreciated.

Of course - all I've done so far is take the sides and the rear window out
I watched them. I guess I just need some rest and try again tomorrow. It was 62 when I was trying to install it. Maybe it was to cold. I dunno. It doesn't say anything about the 4 clips you need to remove. What the heck are the clips.
It's one of two things :
- Might be referring to the plastic strips that lock the sailcloth into the door frame hardware. You need to get a finger inside them at the b-pillar and pop them out fore and aft or you'll rip the top trying to pull up. Likewise, you want to make sure that they fall outside the channel on the way down or you could snap them off.
- Also might be the two retaining bars that have plastic "c clips" on the ends that lock onto the main tube frame to provide tension for the rear part of the top, especially when the sunrider is open. You could concievably snap them off if they were out of position.
As for the fit, you need heat and time. If you can't get a sunny day and 70 deg., try getting it part way on and cranking the heat. It will go. It will fit much better after having it on for a week or so. After that, you might even want to put it down and up again for a final fit.
