Default soft top leak- problem solved!!!

so finally after 4 attempts they finally found the problem, nevermind the TSB and new seals. they simply took door surround from an '08 and installed them on my '07. I witnessed the water test and there's absolutely no more leaks.

That's awesome. They did that on mine. No such luck. There's something seriously wrong with mine.

Wait, you said door surrond. They only replaced my door seals - I think - not the black plastic door surround parts. Oh well, they had the fourt attempts.

they changed the seals on the second visit, I asked them if they did the water test and the typical dealership answer " oh yes we did and there's no leak" ya right, got back home put the hose on it for about 10 seconds and it leaks. You should ask them to try the "08 door surround, that should solve your problem.

What's different about the 08 surrounds?

I just had mine in for the second time for leaks. First time they replaceed the header seal (made no difference) and 2nd time they added a bit of seal on the front most edge of the surrounds.

I have an '08 also and also have leaks. So unless these are new surrounds for later 08's I don't think they'll fix me. I've had all the recent TSB's with no luck. :(

First day of a lot of rain and had the waterfall effect and went out to the jeep to find a wet passenger seat and nice flow of water/drops on the door handles while driving home.

They have to fix this. I don't want the smell of a musty cab and water damage on my new jeep.

Yeap. When I took mine in to the stealership last week a guy I know there tried to give me the 'its a Jeep thing' speech- "You know all about these," he said, "this ain't yer first Jeep."

Correct sir, its my 6th. All soft (or dual) and none of the others had leaky tops! Not even my damn POS '87 YJ

While we're on the subject, every one of my Jeeps except this one has been caught in some kind of thunderstorm or another, so I am used to them gettin wet. But when the top is up, well....

My '02 TJ had a SMALL leak that happened only in a torrential downpour but it was a vent somewhere that just got the passenger floor a little wet. I just lived with it. This is different, it's wet EVERWHERE, almost rather just skip the top in the first place. :P
