Default Soft top leaks

I might of missed it, but just in case i wanted to post up and let you guys know this info.

I recently took my 2011 in for an oil change, since i had the time to leave it there for the day i had them look at a couple leaks i've been having with my soft top. The leaks are from the driver side clip thats right by your head, and then also on both doors whenever you open them and just get that nice stream of water all over you as you're getting in and out of the Jeep. They let me know there is a service bulletin out for these leaks to replace the foam, so they have the foam on order for me and as soon as it gets in the will put it all on and seal it back up for me.

Like i said i just wanted to let everyone that might be having these leaks know about this so you can get it fixed up!

There is a service bulletin for getting wet while opening the door? I'm not trying to be a smartass but there is no drip edge above the doors on the soft top which is why this happens. The hardtop DOES have a drip edge and you don't get wet. I'm interested to see how they fix this, please post pictures!

I look at the positive side of this issue. I expect to get wet when I open the door on my soft top. At 5 am that cold water wakes me up for the ride into work. It's a Jeep, not a Lexus. Maybe Chrysler should put a warning sticker on the door so prospective Jeep buyers are warned about an occasional shower in advance? My wife isn't so accepting though. Getting that $80 hairdo messed up really pisses her off. I'm sure Chrysler engineers are reading this forum and are already working on a redesign but it will be up to the accountants to deside if the added costs are worth it. At Chrysler, and other auto giants, it's all about profit and loss.

I just put a Quadratop on the 09 Rubicon and it has a drip edge. It just moves the drip forward, closer to the windshield.

Whether it's a Jeep, Lexus, Merc, I don't care. I didn't pay close to $30k for a vehicle to just say, "well it's a Jeep, you should expect to have things wrong with it". Not trying to be a dick and I have no problem with taking it offroad, getting it dirty and using it for what it's supposed to be used for, but I do have a problem with getting wet while driving down the road in the rain.

You have two leaks.

Yes it should not leak why driving or with the doors closed.

However yes it will pour whatever water is on the top when you open the door. This is a Jeep thing and nothing will fix this and yes it can be a big PITA.
