Default soft top mounting by dealer

Hi I purchased my Wrangler Unlimited with a hard top and my dealer is telling me that mounting a soft top is a 4 hour process and costs $450. Does this sound accurate or really expensive?

I have the soft top boxed up unused in my garage.

Thanks!

For me who is new to the jeep wrangler top, it took a buddy and me 30 min. Just trying to fig out where the parts go. Its actually pretty easy. The buddy you need to help removing the hard top and he also comes in handy as a helping hand.

I would not pay them to do what takes a small amount of time. Do it your self so you know how to remove it when you want the hard top on.

Agree... I am guessing the price given is their min per hour rate....

The first time it will take you about 30 minutes. After that it will take about 15 minutes.

Make sure if you bought it new that they gave you all the parts before starting the change over. Should be the top as well as 2 small boxes for unlimited 4-door.
My dealer had to eat the cost of the box that was missing but it was a battle because at the time they signed for a complete package which makes them responsible at time of their delivery. They couldn't order the missing package so I had to identify all the missing pieces from the parts department info.

Seriously. The dealer is not going to come out to you when you want to put the top up @ Lowes parking lot when thunderstorms are looming. It's as easy as setting up camp.

Even less thereafter. My 2-door I can top up / down in about 6 minutes without raging and rushing.

They are ripping you off. Save the money and do it yourself. It's not difficult.

I agree with everyone. It's absolutely ridiculous they would charge that much. I bet someone who really loves Jeeps (on the forum or even a random worker at a dealership) would be willing to show you for free! I would!
First time is the hardest, but once u figure it out it's easy. I can put my unlimited softtop up or down in 10-15mins.
