Just bought a '13 JKU about a month ago. Got the dual top package. The soft top is attached to the roll bar. Do I have to take hard top off to completely remove soft top? Or could I just unfasten the soft top from roll bar and maneuver it out somehow ?

 

Well it is possible, but very very tricky and frustrating. So I'd say just get a friend take the hard top off than do it!, a hard to is very easy to remove

 

I had my wife and a buddy to help and did it without removing the top completely. What I did was pull the freedom panels off, unbolt and disconnect the wiper stuff. Then I put the retaining strap in place on the soft top and unbolted it from the roll bar brackets. Then my buddy and I lifted the hardtop up while my wife slid the soft top out the back of the Jeep. Then we sat the hardtop back down and hooked/bolted everything back up.
