Default soft top removal

hi there, we got our jk with the hard top installed from the factory. in the manual it says to fully remove the soft top which at the moment is still in its original position. it goes on to say that damage could occur if you drive around with the soft top still in situ when using the hard top. we'll be removing it this weekend and i was wondering just how likely it is that actual damage could occur as it doesn't seem to get in the way of anything or rub up against anything that could damage it. what do you think ?

Default Well...

Think of it this way....

The vehicle was shipped like that to begin with. However, they are warning you that if you bounce around too much - damage may occur.

I had to drive a ways the day we picked ours up for work that we needed to be able to tow the Jeep behind our RV. No damage occurred that I am aware of but then again we didn't drive off road.

The hardtop came off later that day, and except for very brief periods, the softtop isn't up much either!

However, we did save the "shipping bag" as it works for a protective cover until you decide whether to get a boot or not!

Enjoy the topless life!

Excuse me for my ignorance, but are you saying you have the soft top installed under the hard top? Both mounted at the same time?

Ouch! If so - disregard my comments! I was thinking he was referring to the way the dual top option ships....
