Default Soft top window Issue

I am having an issue with getting the back window to zip properly. I have tried fallowing the video to a T and the Window is still really hard to get zipped I am worried about tearing the stitching or breaking the zipper. Does anyone have any good ideas? I would appreciate any help anyone can give me.

Try silicon spray. Just keep it off the plastic window. I've used bee's wax on soft top zippers as a part of regular
maintenance for years

I have had the occasional tough time, especially when it gets cold. I find it helps if I loosen the sail panel a bit. And I really make sure the zipper is fully inserted and lined up before going up too many teeth.

maybe have a helper, if available, hold the window panel while you line up the zippers.

Hey Guys,
Thanks for the advise on the silicone and bees wax I have tried that and it works well for getting the Zipper to move. My main issue is that the top seems to be way to tight and it seems like the Zipper is pulling really hard at the seams. Sorry I am a Jeep newbie when you say losen the sail panel what exactly do you mean?

Don't do it in the winter
The cold weather stiffens the entire top making the top of the rear window crazy tight and you run the risk of cracking the plastic windows. Ask me how I know

the sail panels are the vertical strips of the top that attach to the rear corners of the tub. I wouldn't loosen them completely (don't detach them entirely) just the part closest to the tail gate.

NovaX09 is right, be careful in the cold.

I put the sail panels into the retaining lip, then slide/rotate them slightly inward towards the tailgate. Put the window rear window in place, zip it up, then slide the sail panels back around the "corner" until it the rear window seems tight.

Pretty easy to do if you leave the side windows undone just enough to get your hand in there to grab the sail panel and slide it along the retaining lip.

I also pull down on the crossbar above the rear window while zipping it up with the other hand if it seems too tight that way. The bars are basically a big set of tensioners anyhow. The top's meant to be tight but will flex/stretch quite a bit. I wouldn't worry about wrecking a zipper unless something is horribly out of spec.

Working on it in the cold is not recommended though. The manual has a warning in it but I can't recall what temperature they get all testy about it.

Thanks for all of the help I appreciate all of the info I will give the sail panel idea a try as well as pulling down on the rear cross bar when it warms up. I live in Chicago and would never drop the top in cold weather I like not having a cold all winter. I figured that I would get as many ideas as possible before I drop the top next year. Thanks again for all of the great advise.
