Soft Top Window Question
OK Guys here is my question, I recently purchased a used soft top which was bought used prior to my purchase. It is supposed to be from a 2014 JKU. The windows are scratched more than I would like so I found a used never used set on ebay and purchased them. The ad stated they would fit 11-16 model JKU's. I get them in and the side windows fit perfect, the rear window is much wider. My scratched window measures about 46 inches wide and the one i received measures 53 inches wide. Am I missing something aren't all jeeps the same? Luckily the guy I purchased from is going to refund my money but I need to know before I purchase another set what the issue is. Maybe these are from a 2 door or something. Any advice or input would be appreciated also if anyone out there reads this and has a set of tinted windows there looking to get rid of shoot me a message. Thanks
I thought so to but this top has the spring assisted set up with the wire that pulls tight all the way down the side inside the top. I previously had a 2011 with a soft top and it had plastic pieces that had to be tucked in the door surrounds just like the rear windows do. I was under the impression that the wire set up with the spring on it was the newer top. Please correct me if I am wrong. Thanks
You are talking about the measurement of the clear part of the window only, right? Not from the edge of the fabric zipper to the other edge...
I am betting the new window would have fit fine.
BTW, PM me the seller's info on that new window. I wouldn't mind an unscratched rear window, and I know that one will fit my 2015... I just measured.
I think your new/used top is probably a 2011+ top with a 2010 or earlier rear window.

The 07-09 tops had the tuck on the door surrounds. The 10 had the same window size as that generation but the top didn't tuck in over top of the doors anymore.
The rear window- my 10 off of the lot dos did not have the flaps for tucking the rear window in because the sides came around further. I replaced it with a 13 premium top. The 13 has wider window and the rear window tucks. The top itself still does not tuck into the door surrounds.
