Softop question
I'm sure I could figure this out with enough searching, but I am not comfortable I will come up with the best option for my current dilemma.
I bought a "used" 2014 2-door Rubicon with 200 miles on it (09/11/2014) with the dual-top option. Well.. somehow the assclowns at the dealer never received the hardware/windows when the person returned the Jeep. So, now I have the "canopy" portion with the bars (basically because it was physically attached to the Jeep, I suppose) and none of the parts that apparently come in cardboard boxes, separately.
The dealer's responses thus far have ranged from:
They have not.. made it "right". So, now I am looking at options. I assume I need:
And it seems as though there are 2 fabric options? One that is more of a Vinyl look with a slight crosshatch and then the other which is more like cloth or canvas (which is what my canopy is).
I looked at the Bestop® Trektop™ and noticed they mentioned door hardware. Would that hardware work with my OEM canopy too? Therefore, would I be able to by the Trektop and then only need to buy the 2 side windows and rear window for the OEM top?
As you can see.. this is a bit of a spot to be in with little Jeep experience to know the best way out of this situation.
thanks all.

The dealer's responses thus far have ranged from:
- Let me talk to my manager to see how he wants to handle this
- Umm.. well see.. if the parts weren't *in* the vehicle when you picked it up, I'm not sure there's much we can do
- Oh ya.. we'll make this right

- Door frame hardware
- Left/Right Side Windows
- Rear Window

Call Quadratec and tell them what you have. They can "piece meal" the remaining parts you will need. It shouldn't be too much money. But the side windows may be a little chunk. Since the new fabric is a little more expensive.
6 weeks in to the whole "Jeep thing" and I am browsing Quadratec daily now ;-)
If you only have the "canopy" you will need.....Door surrounds w/ attachment bolts, side windows, rear window, tailgate bar w/attachment clips.
Windows come clear or tinted.
Sounds like you have the premium top.
All of those parts can add up quickly. You might want to price a complete top to compare. Used and new tops come up for sale on the forum from time to time too.

Here is a link to see the parts breakdown.

(I'm not pushing this vendor, their site is just in a nice format that's easy to see)

The dealer needs to either A: supply the missing parts or B: refund you the price of the premium soft top option. If they will not do either take them to court, you paid for the dual top package, they need to supply it or refund it.
I would not be buying any of the pieces myself. If the vehicle was listed by the dealer as a dual top option vehicle you have the right to assume that both tops are complete and its up to dealer to guarantee this. It would be different if the vehicle was sold as-is. The dealer has all the resources and parts to supply you with a set of windows and missing hardware which will set them back a couple of hundred bucks. This is a no brainer.

I had a buddy of mine with the same problem and the dealer made it right. They simply took his incomplete top out of his jeep and walked over to a newer jeep, removed the top with boxes and handed it to him.. So i guess if they want any future business or a referral from you then they will take care of you..
Good Luck

Was this purchased at a Jeep dealership or another? Basically this is going to come down to if this is a good dealership or not. If they are good, they will get the missing parts for you. If they are not a good dealership you are probably out of luck of them getting the parts for you. Every dealership makes you sign a document stating that their are no additional parts or promised services unless expressed in the documentation. This really becomes an issue when you buy a used vehicle. You are responsible for making sure you have all the parts before you sign that document.
he bought it used so in essence he may have gotten everything he paid for. If the boxes were in it at the time of purchase and disappeared when they were cleaning it for delivery then he would owed and untitled to those parts.
