Default 35" and lift ?

My thoughts
Go with good 33s with a proper back spaced rim
you get good looks , good off road , and you can run stock suspention and gearing.
Then if you want more you can add the extra ~ $5000. more to do the gear and lift.
Remember when you lift you change the caster and wheel base pinon angles and so on. So you have to do it right if want to dive it on the road every day and feel half ass safe.
just my thoughts

Have fun its a JEEP Click image for larger version

I have a 2012 with an AEV 2.5 lift and 35's. I also have the AEV pro cal which changed the shift points. Not sure what gears are in it (bought it used) but with the 3.6 motor I don't have any issues. I'm also running an automatic.
