Question Spark plug change interval?

Soooo, does anyone here know for sure what type of spark plugs the JK's V6 is fitted with and what the change interval is for them.

According to the maintenance schedule booklet that came with my JK it's 48K km (approx 30K miles), however according to the service manager at the dealership the JK comes with platinum-tipped plugs from the factory and they get changed at the 96K km (approx 60K miles) service. If they are the super-expensive platinum-tipped spark plugs (a poster in a previous thread here recently said that they were) then the longer interval is about right, however from what I've heard from others the regular, cheap Champions are fitted as OEM from the factory and need to be changed out sooner.

I'll probably end up pulling one when I get a chance in the next few days and have a look, but for now any input you guys have would be great!

I agree they should be pulled a lot sooner than the 100,000 miles recommended, even if only to prevent having them seized in the head.
I will do that soon. If the gap is still good, and the engine isn't misfiring, they will go back in. I have only 33,000 miles on them.

I just replaced my plugs with the stock champions RE14PLP5 at 72,000 miles on her (plugs were on sale at Advance auto) They all came out looking decent not worn much at all but the gaps ranged from 0.059-0.062 on them. New plugs and wires are in and not much of a different in idle or city driving but can tell a good difference on the highway. Its easier to maintain speed with less pedal input.

Hope you are planning to document what you find in one of your excellent post. Any tips, like the one on PCV valve removal, on removing the passenger side plugs would be appreciated as well.
