I was looking to pick up front and rears for the Unlimted Sahara, But was wondering are they worth the money, and hows the install?

 

I installed OEM front only, to keep slush/sand/salt off the door handles and rear fenders in the winter.
I didn't see a need for the rear ones.
Worth the money.
Install was very easy.

 

The rears arent worth it?

 

I usually place mud flaps on all my 4x4 vehicles.....This was the first one that I didn't. I found the the Stock Sahara side steps work out great as they seem stop the rock from chipping up the side doors and rear fender flare. The rear plastic corner on the rear bumper...I don't worry about the rocks and dirt flinging.

The only thing I did was add 3M clear bra tape to the rear fender flare to help out with the road debris as I did put on wider tires and they stick out from the stock flares.

IMHO, you don't need the splash guards if you have the sahara side steps....Save the money for another mod!

 

Not needed. I guess you could interpret that as not worth it.

I agree with above. If you have anything on the rockers that will cast an adequate "splash shadow" up the side of the jeep, front mud flaps will not be needed for the reasons I mentioned in post two.

 

I bought a set for the front and they are working out awsome. I have bent them, crushed them, twisted them and ripped the fender off and they havent brocken cracked or warped. They really save the side of the jeep too.

The back ones are not worth it as they are not needed I think a set of 2 cost me around 40 bucks

 

X2 exactly what I did and my line of thinking.

But, recently (with the soft top) I have been wondering if rear guards would keep the spray (or dust) that I kick up off of the rear window. Even in light rain, my rear window quickly gets covered and I can't see through it very well at all.

Anyone have a before/after experience with rear guards?

 

Does anyone have a picture of there rig with front splash guards installed?

 

 

Here are pictures of mine, I got all four of them. Good purchase, with satisfying results. Very little muck or spray ... I like more the big rubber-type (like Land Rover ones), but these do flex enough.
