Default Squeeky rattle in dash

I have an extremely annoying squeeky rattle deal going on in my dash.
Symptoms:
-doesn't happen all the time
-seems to do it more often when it's not below 40 degrees F outside.
-occurs on a relatively bumpy road; as in a not smooth surface.
-sounds like it's coming from the direction of the defrost air vents.

Before I tear apart my dash and eff something up, does anyone have any idea what that could be? Has anyone experienced anything similar? And finally, would it be a better idea to just take it into the dealer?
Thanks

I had an annoying noise from somewhere in the center of the dash.

It turned out to be the A/C lines, where they come through the firewall. They were rubbing on some part of the HVAC unit.

I popped the hood, grabbed the two lines at the firewall, moved them around a little to where they finally came to rest in a slightly different position.

It has been quiet ever since.

Default Fixed!

I should report that I did take it in and they found that the HVAC valve was rubbing up against the housing which was causing the squeak. Thank goodness it wasn't a hamster. They apparently put a spacer in there to keep it from ever touching again. Good times

Default question

How did you get to the A/C lines that go into the firewall?
