I have a 2012 Rubicon and have replaced the starter about 4 times in 30k miles and the pigtail about 6 times in that length of time. I have never had this much starter trouble with any vehicle, ever!

Biggest problem is the stupid pigtail for the trigger wire. Works great all year until it gets cold. Seems to fail reliably right at 0*F. Dielectric grease makes it worse.

I have tried Napa, autozone and Mopar starters all with the same results. What gives!?

can you guys recommend a brand of starter that is not a pile of crap? I am changing starters every couple of months at this point.

 

Doubt if it is the starter. Sounds like a wiring connection and could even be the starter relay in the TIPM.
