Coming from a stick Golf GTi, which would pull away in second without much issue, the 12 JKU was, shall we say, a bit more agricultural! Remember you're trying to get a lot more weight rolling, so you have to be progressive with the switch between gas and clutch to avoid the car stalling. Tip - take the jeep to a slight incline and facing uphill, roll the car up and down just by playing with the gas and clutch pedals. As you get on top of the biting point and the release and loading speeds of each pedal, you'll soon be hitting the perfect take-offs...

Never ever give up and trade to an auto.

Bring up your rpm's more as you're letting up on the clutch.

Part of the drive by wire is that there is "anti stall" feature where the idle will adjust if you let out the clutch a d don't give it ANY gas. Took me awhile to figure this out. Not a big fan if this either although it is nice off road

Hill Start Assist (HSA) on?

Turn it off if you don't need this feature. It will make starting from a stop easier.

It is a little different then most sticks. I think its because they are under powered and the clutch is a little soft. You will get use to it.
