Hi,
I have recently been hearing a metallic crunch coming from my steering box from my 07 JKU. I jacked up the front end and had my wife turn the wheels. Every time you turn left, there's a crunch.
I've been trying to self diagnose with my friend the internet and came to a conclusion with two options. I have a bad gear and can either rebuild it, or replace it.
Anyone have advice?
Are there any upgrades I can do without breaking the bank?

un hook from front end and check with gear box a lone if still bad replace .not that bad to change

Yeah, it's not that bad to change. But it's expensive. I'd rather put money into something heavier duty.
Does anyone know of any upgrades?
Has anyone done a rebuild that's cheaper?
