Default Steering Box Snapping

Has anybody experienced an issue with their stock JK steering box snapping the rod that connects to the pitman arm?

Mine snapped today as I was taking a turn on a dirt road.

Is your suspension and steering all stock or modified?

Stock pitman arm with a 3.5 inch lift.

I think that is enough lift to put extra strain on the arm. Maybe search it up in the forum?

I haven't seen a lot of these threads, but there are a few if you can find them.

The pic in that one seems to show a cracked shaft that finally snapped. I don't see this type of wear and tear on yours. Anything happen just prior to this? Like you were on your way home from a trail full of rocks?

Hear about this happening at least once or twice a year. Boxes werent designed to handle the stresses we put on then. Especially with the 35's and bigger tires that we all love. You might want to look at a hydro assist kit.

Is the drag linked flipped ?
After replacement, you can brace the sector shaft.
