Default Steering feeling strange

Hello, I am the owner of a 2008Jeep Jk unlimited. Over the years I have made some additions. One of which is recent. I now have 33 inch dura-tracks and a terra flex leveling kit. All of the sudden I have noticed a slight shudder or pull and none smooth movement when I steer the car. I have not idea what this could be? Since putting of the 33 inch tires do I need a better steering stabilizer? Something else more serious? Thanks for your help!

Could be something loose, hop under the front of the jeep (not running) and have someone turn the steering wheel a bit from side to side and look for slop or play in the linkage.

Check your power steering fluid.

Is like a surge or pulse when turning or it is like a wobble?

More like a pulse. At slow speeds when turning.

I would check the u-joints in your front axle shafts. While your there check out the ball joints as well, if they have not been replaced, I'll bet at least the lowers are shot.

Like others have said - check for movement while someone steers back and forth. Also, squeeze your tire rod ends with a massive pair of channel Locks and check for up and down movement.

I'm wondering if the tires are out of balance? I went on the highway the other day, felt no effects. It's only at a slow speed. Having 33 inch tires is it possible that the stock steering stabilizer is shot? Had my mechanic look at it, didn't say anything. Guess he couldn't replicate what I am feeling in the steering wheel. Thanks again for all your help.

I have a brand new 2014 JKUR with only 14,000 miles on the odometer. I went through the tests that are shown on a thread about death wobble....they were great!
Come to find out I had bad drag link ends and tie rod ends. This is my DD and never been off road. Because of that it messed up my tires a little bit and had to get them balanced.
If you are a novice I suggest you watch those videos......it'll walk you right through everything.

Ok so the plot thickens. For the first time in awhile I decided to drive without the music on and windows down. There seems to be a noise coming from the front left of the jk when I go over a big bump. It happens mostly when I am turning towards the right. It sounds like a loud rub when the wheel goes down and up. Once again when driving in a straight direction there are no issues. No movement in the wheel. Only when from a turn to go straight I feel a little movement. I have never gone off-roading with it. I have also ordered new shocks totally unrelated but will be having my mechanic take a look. Just curious what is going on.
