Default steering question

Hey all,

was out driving a "gently" used X with a buddy who just bought it. When it was my turn to drive, the first thing I noticed right away was that the steering felt ridiculously light. Like *no* resistant in the steering wheel at all, and the front end felt really really light if that makes any sense. Normal steering input had the jeep feeling like it was over-steering. Now I'm comparing this to my Rubi, which probably has a heavier feel in the wheel due to the MT's, but still this thing seemed way off. What would cause this kind of steering feel? thanks for the input.

Could be as you said. You are used to a different feel.
Has the suspension been modified? Less caster would lighten up the feel toward the unstable side.

More than likely, it's the tires. The M/T's on the Rubicon are alot harder to turn than a normal radial. They also weigh quite a bit more. The alignment could also be off a bit too, although all you can really set without modifying anything is toe.
