steering shake
I'd like your opinion on what's going on with my 2008 2 door rubicon with 50,000 miles. Last week I swapped out my stock wheels and tires for my winter wheels/tires, a set of Sahara wheels/tires I bought from a guy on this forum. The winter tires (sahara) are in good shape with about 20,000 miles on them. I use them for winter driving because they handle the ice better than the rubicon tires. I used them last year and had no problems. In the spring I removed them and stored them in the basement where they have been ever since I reinstalled them last week.
With the Sahara tires, I get a shake in the steering wheel that starts at about 40mph and gets stronger till I reach 60 mph. After 60, the steering smooths out again. The tires look good and are all still sporting their original balance weights. They are all aired up to 37psi. What do you think is going on? No shake with my poorly worn BFG's, but shake with the smooth Sahara tires???
