Catalytic converter will sometimes smell like a rotten egg or a bad fart if that's the culprit.

I get a burnt carbon smell when hammering the pedal/needle getting on the highway. It doesn't last long, but very noticeable.

What years are your Jeeps? It hasn't happened on my 2014. But I did have a 2013 for 6 months with a similar smell when getting on the gas. I pulled the plastic cover off the top of the engine and found pieces of electrical tape there. I removed them and after a month or so the problem went away.
