Default stock 16" steel wheels

Hi, I'm new to jeep and I'm thinking of bigger tires on my 16" steel wheels without lifting so which tire size could fit best without rubbing? and what other changes follow the tire change? (something related to gearing I think )!!!
any pictures of 16" stock with bigger tires?

Largest I've actually seen on a stock JK with stock 16" wheels is a 255/85-16 tire. That's basically a 33x10.50. Problem is, there are only about a half dozen tires in that size to choose from.

Much more common is your 265/75 and 285/75 sizes...but the 285s will likely rub if you are all bone stock.

I'm sticking with 265/75-16 until my lease is over and the Jeep is put in my name...since that size is 32" which is within factory equipment specs.

does 255/85-16 tires require any gearing change?

Require a gearing change? No. But will you want a gearing change? Probably.

If it was me, I would. Having the instruments calibrated would be a good idea too so you can keep the ESC system happy.
