Stock 2018 JKU Rubicon Recon Brakes
#11
The standard Rubicon comes with the same brakes as all the others.

HD axles on Recon
Yeh this is what has driven my curiosity and as I am not home I can not measure anything.
The Recon package has HD 44 axles and differentials plus cast covers (not sure from what manufacturer).
I will try to get some part numbers here in Japan as they get the UK/AUS RHD model here and I saw a Recon driving around.

Stock Rubicon Brake Rotor Sizes
I asked a question on the Quadratec site about upsizing rotors on a 2018 JKU Rubicon and got this interesting answer: “If you have a Rubicon then you have the maximum size brake rotors and pads available for Jeep”
I question this info, but am having a hard time vetting it because I can't verify the stock size Rubicon front and read rotors. Does anyone know the spec who can verify or refute the Quadratec statement?
In a similar vein, Terraflex states online that an oversized brake master cylinder kit is "not needed for 2012 -2018 JK Wranglers", without differentiating the Rubicon model from any others. I have read a number of people state that an oversized brake master cylinder kit, coupled with a bigger booster, results in a significantly improved braking experience. But I have not previously paid attention to the JK model they are talking about. Are these statements reconciled by concluding that, although the upsized brake master cylinder kit is not strictly needed for 2012 -2018 JK Wranglers, it nevertheless results in an improved brake pedal feel, and perhaps improved braking?
