IMO the two doors are cool but nothing but a toy. I would never have bought one. The four door is practical, and again IMO the only option (for me), because its my daily driver, and I camp a lot so I need space.

The 4 dr is more capable of someone actually entering the rear seat!

Threads like this are asking for Flames. Its personal preference. I have a four door but like both and appreciate each of the for their strengths and limitaions. At the end of the day they are Jeeps and cant knock anything about either.

I followed a 4dr on some trails, he had similar lift and sized tires as I do, but he scraped over rocks I easly cleared and had two goes at some corners that I made in one shot.
It also fits in my garage with two motorcycles in front - the wifes 4dr pick up takes up the other side, so I prefer a 2dr.

I have owned a 09 2-dr and now have a 11 Rubi Unlimited. The 4-dr seems to have a more solid feel to it, but as to performance I believe they are equal. The 2-dr is a little easier to manipulate in tight areas due to the shorter wheelbase, but the 4-dr handles better on the road and the towing issues are much better. It really comes down to what you like and how you drive it.

Depending on the women, that could be even more fun in a 2-door.

As far as I know, both the 2- and 4-door are "Trail Rated". Perhaps Jeep has actually quantified the differences between the two. It would be interesting to see those numbers.

I think both the 2 door and 4 door are slowly turning into comfy "car like" jeeps. I hope the true aspect of what a Jeep is intended for should not compromised just for comforts or "more room" Jeeps symbolize what they were intentionally made for and those who argue about which is better should actually look at what they have and realize that instead of 2dr Vs 4dr. Choose another brand if you want something different!!

I use to have a four door tacoma, and I drive on a lot of narrow trails. The two door makes it so much easier/possible to turn around on those. I also love the way the two doors look, but that's personal opinion, and has nothing to do with capability.

I had a 4 dr ram 1500 and didn't seem to have any issues on the trail. If a trail is narrow, then it's narrow no matter what your driving. Now I have a 4 dr JK and enjoy the room. It's alot easier to store my fishing gear and so far it's only seen some moderate mud and we did just fine!
