You're going to have a D30 front and a D44 rear. As for gears, if it's not clearly listed on your window sticker you can get a build sheet from the dealer, or from Jeep.com. Since you have the 6 speed, it's going to be 3.21 or 3.73 though (depending on option factors).

To add: D30 spline count is 27; D44 for an X is 30 spline count. If you look online know there are two different D44 rear axles: the non-rubicon D 44 rear and the Rubicon D44 rear axle. Your gearing will be 3.21 unless it was upgraded with a tow package.

Thank you very much. Still deciding on the gearing for 35s. I think 4.56 is about average for good on road and off. any thoughts.

I have been looking online and haven't found anything that will tell me the stock gear ratio. The older vehicles used to have a tag in the glove box that had different codes on it or a tag on the axle.

Does Jeep do this? Where can I find what gear ratio I currently have definitively? I just bought this Jeep and is my second one - 2008 JK, 6 Speed, 3.8, looks like the tow package is from the factory and it came with 17" Rubi Wheels and Tires.

Thanks for any input.

Leo
