Default Stock Jack

We all know the stock sizzor jack is a POS...Mine is rusted from some standing water I had in the rear (I missed that drain plug...). Other than a high lift, what kind of jack do you carry for roadside emergencies? I want something compact, so I was thinking maybe a bottle jack I have never used one, and I dont really know what size to buy...

Any other suggestions?

Bottle jacks are good, they are much easier to work with compared to the stock jack. If you look around you should be able to find one that fits where your stock jack goes pretty easy.

I have the stock jack and a bottle jack in my Jeep. I guess I could scrap the stocker, but I like having a spare.

If you want something OEM looking, try salvage yards. Bet you could get a new one there for $5, maybe from a pick-up or a large SUV. Find a place that has a fresh inventory of totalled vehicles.

Bottle jacks tend to work quite well. They're a few dollars more than scissors style jacks, and are heavier when you set them up, but it's worth it the first time you use one.
