Stock Oil Filter vs. Oversized?
ready for my 1st oil change and wanted to know what the benefit of running a larger filter on my Rubi vs the stock one? Any filters to avoid? I have head some can cause engine ticking. Is this true? What are you running and are there any issue which your choice?

Remember, the filter, no matter what size , will be full of oil on start up. I could be way off base, but I don't see how that's going to happen, if the oil filter was dry ever time at start up, then yes, but it's not.

A larger filter requires more oil to maintain the proper engine level. If you use a larger filter and do not compensate with more oil then there is less oil available for the engine on start up.

I agree. Besides that, the specified 6 quarts seems to put the oil level over the full mark anyway. I don't see how having a little larger filter with more oil in it could cause harm as long as the filtering specs are the same. I am using the larger Purolator Pure One filter.

That said but why a larger filter at a larger cost if you're doing oil changes within the periods specified under the terms of the factory warrantee?
