I am very pleased so far with my speaker and sub install. I added Rockford Fosgate to the front and rear speakers. (not as hard as people make it out to be on instuctions or youtube videos) I also built a down facing, duall 12" subwoofer box for the rear, with an amp.

It made a world of difference. Obviously with the two 12" subs, the bass hits hard if I want it too, I ended up turning the bass down to 5 on the dial. With the Rockford Fosgate front and rear speakers, the stock radio even at full blast won't distort the music, and that would be way to loud for my ears. I also noticed it didn't automatically turn down to protect the stock speakers... Every notch on the dial moved it just a little louder, all the way to max output.

I am still planning on adding a new head unit, which I know I still need for a better quality of sound, but the new speaker upgrade is a heck of a lot better than it was with the stock speakers, and for about $70 for the Rockford Fosgate speakers. The wood for the subs, the 12" woofers, and the amp I had laying around so that didn't cost me anything. I still need to add 6 small legs for the sub box, instead of the 2X4.
I took a few pictures to show you the sub box I made and the unintended modification I had to make to it.

I've read that filling the soundbar with polyfil improves the sound of even the stock speakers. I haven't done this mod, yet, so I cannot comment personally on how well it works.

I did the poly fill in the sound bar. Packed it pretty full (that's what she said). Haven't really noticed a huge difference. I could be deaf too though.

It works... A little, but you still have the weak crappy stock speakers.

You do have to take the speakers out, but you only have 3 small screws in each speaker... It litterally takes approximately 5 minutes for even then non-mechanical person. It's a good start.
