So my newbness aside I have a question. I was looking at the sticker for my unlimited X the other night...isn't that what everyone does when they can't be out driving it? ...Anyway in the optional "stuff" I noticed it says "heavy duty gas shocks". I guess I'm just wondering what this is compared to what the X normally would come with? Is this what the sahara or rubi models get for shocks or just some fancy term to make me think I'm getting something more than I asked for?

Hi folks... I got the "S" package with my JK and it stated HD shocks as well. I asked my Service Manager about it and he explained that they are Mono-tube shocks verses twin-tube shocks. According to him they are manufacturered to closer tolerences and the Mono-tube allows the heat created from rapid / hard use to be dissipated faster / more efficeintly. I have no idea if this is fact or smoke so let's hear from the guys that know suspensions... Take care Mike

 

Yes sorry I have the S package

 

The S package gives you the HD gas shocks...same as the Rubicon..only painted black instead of red.
