Default Stock tire carrier weight question

Would the weight of two 5 gallon jerry cans full of gas be too heavy for the stock tire carrier and the spare tire? How about one can? It would not be permanent, only for a trip.

I googled the weight of gasolene and found several answers, typically around 6-7 pounds per gallon. Round up. Multiply that by 5, 35 lbs plus the weight of the can and bracket... probably 40 lbs per can??

I say no due that I feel these tailgate's and their hinges are burdened enough with the spare alone.

x2 plus that stock carrier really is a very light weight, very thin walled piece of crap casting, hopefully aluminum maybe something else. Just pulled mine off yesterday and was a little shocked at how light weight and thin it was. Hefting it I understood why it cracked all to billy hell when the spare was tapped by a lifted jeep at less than 5 mph. Maybe it was designed to sacrifice itself as there was no damage to the gate.
