Went to shut the jeep off and it goes into park but it is like it is stuck on the accessory mode. Dash lights are on and the key will not go back all the way and is stuck in the ightion. Any ideas would be great. Looked the best I could and everything seems hooked up. I could not get the 4wd shifter off to take whole center piece off. how does the shifter come off. Thanks in advance.

did u try just moving the steering wheel alittle and see if it comes out or put it in a gear and then back into park or maybe turn the car on and then off again and see if it comes out in one motion. good luck with that 1

Yes i tried to get the steering wheel to lock . I also tried shutting it on and off. I tried all I could think of. I followed the cable that seems to go from the shifter to the ignition/key hole. It is like something is not engaging. It is in park with the battery discoed but you can still shift it. auto trans.

Yes it starts and works. The key is stuck in the ignition. it is also on accessory so the radio and stuff like that works. You can also just shift it.

drop it off at the dealer asap and have them look at it

I am going to get it to them tomorrow. Hopefully they do not kill me with a price. Out of warranty. Should of bought the extend I guess.

Today I let my coworker check out my 2012 JKU and the first thing he did was tilt the wheel all the way up. Soon after I drive home, parked in the driveway, and turned the key off. The key would not come out of the ignition!

I tried moving the wheel, then tried jiggling the shifter, turned on and off while shifting auto trans, no dice. I then thought back to any changes that had been made... Coworker... Tilt wheel! I tilted the wheel down and the key came out! WTF!
