The drywall screw method works.

but i used a really sharp wood chisel and whapped the ends off of the screw/rivet/buttplug things they used to hold the dumb thing on there.

I used an interior panel removal tool. The one I have is a little skinnier, but its basically the same as this:

I didnt break any of those stupid push pins either. I reinstalled it a week ago and its still on. of course now that my front skid is in, Im just gonna rip the POS off this time.

So if I were to just drill the air dam off, so I can install my tow hooks onto the factory bumper, would there be any problems installing the bumper and not the damn dam???

Well, without it you'l be as aerodynamic as a ...

well, a Jeep.

A few people have reported slightly lower gas milage, and incresed hood lift without it. I never noticed either of those when i took mine off, but i rarely hit anything like a thruway to confirm it anyhow. Damn the damn dam.

You should have no issues what so ever. Air dam and bumper come off as seperate components.

Plastic screws and plugs on the upper edge trim and a couple on the bottom edge and two in behind..... air dam falls right off. I took mine off and haven't noticed anything different other than not worrying about ripping it off while off roading. Looks better too.

The air dam might be valuable if you drive at highway speeds, especially if you tow. The intent is not only to give a little in aerodynamics, but it also creates a low-pressure area behind the dam that aids in engine cooling.

Doesn't do anything but get in the way when you are off-road (where a Jeep belongs).

No air dam. It's got a permanent spot under my work bench until I run out of room and it goes to recycle.
