Stupid question about JK body/frame...
I recently purchased a 08 Rubicon and upon inspection under the truck I noticed some rust in a couple areas... It was very minor, but it shocked me. I just assumed that it would be galvanized... So I looked into the brochure and sure enough no mention of it. So my question is what do you guys do? Just deal with it? Get undercoating sprayed? Seems weird that in this day and age a vehicle doesn't have a galvanized body/frame.
This is actually a new feature. In fact, here is a screen play of a meeting at Daimler Chrysler about it:
"What we'll do is design a vehicle that completely rusts out around the drive train. Then, we'll offer a Lifetime powertrain warranty. That way, they'll all snatch up our product, but 7 years down the road, all they'll have in their driveway is a engine, transmission, and a bunch of dust from the corroded metal!!! We wont have to deal with any claims!!!"

You never specified what is rusty, but things like the driveline are designed to rust quickly, because that forms some type of barrier to keep it from rusting in bad ways and thus becoming structurally unsound.
