I recently changed the plugs I my 3.6 and they were way out. 5 were 50 thou and one 80 thou gaps. Maybe it's momentarily missing or grounding and it's not long enough to be the cel on?

Maybe I will try changing the plugs, although it does not seem like a plug issue. As was stated it only happens at certain RPMS under certain conditions. Seems more like a mapping issue. I wonder what the newest flash is for these things. I have found these electronics make these JK's weak. The guy that run the pine barrens have all kinds of issue. Makes me sad I wasted my money on this thing.

If your thinking its a mapping issue, disconnect the NEG battery cable for 15-20 minutes.

See how long it takes to start doing it again.

Also, you don't have replace the spark plugs to check them. Get a gapper and check their gaps.

I set mine at .05 which I believe is correct for 3.8. I don't know what the gap is for the 3.6, most of mine were .065.

Rob E, yes mine is a different issue then you had, lower speed I didn't have any problem it was mostly accelerating between 4th & 5th and speed close to 50-55, 2500 RPM it wasn't all the time but had me puzzled quite a bit having to turn music to try and hear anything but with my soft top and bad hearing (jet noise 35 years) never could pin point my problem.

Mine does it in any gear at those RPMS. Twice I have tried to drive through it. Once it just kept stuttering, and would not accelerate. The other time it did it three times then accelerated. Disconnected the battery, and touched the cables together for 30 seconds. This is the reason I have had to buy a 1994 XJ to back it up. Might buy another real Jeep so I can get rid of this thing. When I say mapping, I mean the software installed by Jeep. I don't know what the latest flash is for this thing. They have reflashed it twice, under the guise of normal maintenance. I was hoping it was the 2012 head issue, but without a misfire code I can't get it looked at by the stealership without being charge.

Mine has been doing that since I bought it in july 2014, mainly does it at one particular corner. There is a stop sign with a blind corner, after stopping and barely accelerating to check corner, it has just almost like a dead spot, then it recovers and no problem. I have always just chalked it up to something to do with the fly-by wire accelerator and the PCM trying to out guess me. The engine is usually still in the warm up stage as far as keeping the oil press up higher than normal at this same corner.

Sorry for any lack of info on jeep, I am new to posting and using this site.
Jeep is 2013 JKUR Auto
