Sunrider sag
when I have my sunrider top open, should it sag in the middle (where the top folds twice) or am I doing something wrong? It also seems as if the sailpanels come become loose where they "clip in", should this happen? I have a 08 JK 4-door X.
I can take pics later if needed.
Thanks
Joe

Eh, My 2 door had the sail panel problem. I Think it may be related to clipping the top in though.
On mine, right above the driver door, there's a clip you squeeze, that has a peg that locks the soft top frame up, when the sunrider is down. I think the reason my sail panels came loose is because I have the hardest time locking the passenger side clip in (i can wrestle with it for 10 minutes, and I may only get lucky locking it in, it's going to be brought up when i get my oild change soon)
Make sure your clips are in all the way, and that might fix the sail panel thing...

Hey Joe,
Are you folding the top out to the back? each panel the one at the front and the one in the middle need to be (when opening) pulled by the crease to the back and not from one side but from both meaning you have to walk around the car and physically raise the arms in order to pull back the pointed fold so that they lay flat across the remaining back end. I'm not sure if that was understandable but I know I don't have a sag and am only assuming that your second or middle part of your top is not folded back properly causing it to sag into the cabin.
Hoped this helped, also if you are folding it back and you are getting a sag there is a prop top they call it it is usually used to keep water from collecting on your top when it rains, I purchased one from Quadratech usually it's installed in the front but i'm sure u could install it in the back if it's that noticeable. It was about 40 bucks.

i have the four door and can get it to fold with no sag....but wheres this clip thingy? haha, can anyone show pictures? I never put it in sunrider mode because it feels too lose (the whole top, the back sail panels with fly up with wind etc.) so with side windows in i think itd be fine, but is there an extra step i am missing with these clips?

on the 2 doors, it's located on the door frame.
Freeswimming fish, read this, and see if you're doing it the same way http://project-jk.com/jeep-jk-write-...ft-top-sunroof

No sag here. As stated above, when folding, pull the folds to the back, against the way it wants to fold. Also, make sure the top is velcroed (sp?) around the bar above the rear seat (when I got mine it wasn't).
I had mine open all last week. No sagging, flapping... Even did some 65+ mph driving (rear window rolled up), no problems.

I had been folding the sunrider top incorrectly for a few months now - sag included. My rear seat passengers are usually kids so the sag was no big deal but the correct fold is much cleaner. You're right when you say to fold against the natural direction the top wants to fold in. Just roll up the rear window and you're go to go!
Check out this thread. I think this will address the issue...
