Hey folks,

Just looking for a few quick pointers. I'm driving 2 hours tomorrow to swap out my factory soft top for a 2010 freedom top. I was just wondering if you guys had any pointers or tips to make my life a little easier tomorrow. any help is much appreciated.

Thanks.

Bring a set of Torx sockets. From small to about t40. Don't remember exactly what sizes. Maybe as small as t20 for the soft top brackets. And t30 or t40 for the top bracket bolts. There should be 8 bolts and two larger hand fasteners that help secure the freedom panels. Not really needed, but it does come with them.

Should be a straightforward process. As long as you have the correct size torx drivers. I believe a T 30 for the soft top bow brackets and a T40 for the hard top bolts. Check your manual to confirm the sizes.

Is your jeep configured to have a hardtop? In other words, do you already have installed the wiring harness to connect the rear defroster, wiper, and washer fluid? If not you can get the wiring to install yourself but would need to have a dealer use the STARscan to make the jeep recognize the features.

For example see:
