Default Swaybar Edisconnect fix

Gents

I've had intermittent problems with my auto sway-bar disconnect

mainly gets stuck in disconnected mode after wheeling - so far i've had to remove the motor and buggerise around with it to get it to retract and reset to on road mode.

Yesterday (after the bloody thing jammed again) I decided that the system had stopped trying to reconnect rather than become jammed. I pulled fuse number N37 (the ESP and fuel relay), waited 5 seconds and refitted it and bugger me dead the disco motor reset - all good again

I understand the by doing this I reset the ESP computer which governs the Edisco (reconnects at 25KPH etc) - it looked around and saw the motor in the wrong mode and reset it

anyone else had dramas with the Edisco?

I was told by a tech that you need to be on a flat surface so that the gears connect properly. Maybe it might be an old item but I have done that and have had no problems as of yet.

Well it only makes sense that the bar has to return to it original position for it to re-lock.

Here's the trick if mine does not lock right away. Just get on the most level surface you can find near by and just gently rock the jeep from side to side and it will lock right in! I usually do it when I am airing back up.

Yeah thanks guys I understand all that (i've had the mechanism apart)- mine normally locks in and out easily- just wriggle in your seat and "click" in or out she goes but occasionally snaffoo and the system stops trying especially if i go past the lock in speed a few times
